Best Kid Friendly Pumpkin Patches In The Twin Cities

Winter is coming. We know. But FIRST... fall has arrived. Being from the Twin Cities myself, I personally love everything about fall, except for the looming winter. I love the changing leaves, the crisp air creeping in, and last but not least, the pumpkin patches. Pumpkin patches serve as an amazing source of entertainment and fun. From the hayrides, to the corn mazes, to letting your kiddos pick their favorite pumpkin in the patch - there is fun for everyone (and great photo-op moments too, of course!).

We have taken the liberty to compile a nice one-stop-shop list of our family's favorite patches to visit in the twin cities and why. We hope this list helps your family find the perfect patch for you too!

Let us know if we forgot any, comment your suggestions below!

Where: 450 Apple Orchard Road, White Bear Lake

When: Weekends 11am-5pm and weekdays 1-4pm

Admission: Free, but some attractions and food cost (bring cash)

There is no charge to enter this farm, which makes it one of our favorites! You can pick your own pumpkins, hop on the wagon, explore the corn maze, and check the website out for their live music events. You can also buy food here.

Where: 28186 Kettle River Blvd, Wyoming

When: Weekends 10am-6pm and weekdays 12pm-6pm

Admission: Varies between $8-13/person, depending on weekend/weekdays.

This one is a bit farther up north, but totally worth the drive. The best part is that this price also covers tons of attractions that they offer on the farm - including mazes, playground, petting farm (ever pet a porcupine?!), and all terrain-trikes. Their hayride is our personal favorite, because it's so scenic and a bit longer than others. Food is available for purchase here.

Where: 128 Bunker Blvd, Ham Lake

When Monday-Thursday 3pm-sunset, Friday 12pm-sunset, and weekends 10am-sunset

Admission: $5 per car (the entire place is cash only)

We love this patch because it's one of the only one that has pumpkin games, in addition to their petting farm, inflatables, pony rides (on weekends), and a dump truck hill to play on. The admission fee is $5 per car, so bring your friends and carpool!

Food is available here too, but cash only!

Where: 14421 So. 90th St., Hastings

When: Daily 10am - 6pm

Admission: $5 > 5 years of age and $4 < 4 years old

**IMPORTANT TO NOTE: no dogs allowed here

Did you know that Afton has more to offer than just their Afton Alps ski resort?! We didn't either, but sure glad we found it! The orchard sits on over 200 acres spreading across the St. Croix Valley (so pretty!). They grow all kinds of colored and textured pumpkins, so get your front porch cleared out for these cute things! They also have normal pumpkins too, if you're into that. If you want a pre-carved pumpkin, this place will be your favorite as they have Jack-O-Lanterns ready to go home with you.

The corn maze spans over 6 miles of twists and turns, plenty of time to wear your kiddos out. If that isn't enough, let them climb to the top of the straw mountain and declare themselves rulers over this patch! Petting zoo, hayrides, "Moo Moo Choo Choo" train, and food available too.

Where: 1000 Canterbury Rd S, Shakopee

When: Friday 1-8pm, Saturday 10am - 8pm, Sunday 10am - 6pm

Admission: $15 / kids younger than 4 are free

Last, but not least! This place is awesome and is a bit more adventurous for older kiddos as it has an obstacle course, corn maze, extreme corn pit, jumping pillows that are ginormous, magic shows, pig races, rope spider web, zip lines, tire mountain - and these are all included in the admission price! There is even more this patch has to offer that can cost an extra $2-5 dollars per activity (arcade, hayrides, camel rides, face painting). OH! And yes they also do have tons of pumpkins to choose from!

Whichever one you choose, comment and tell us your favorite part below so that more families can have an insight look too! We hope that your family has an awesome fall experience!
